Some frequently asked questions about our regular city sessions:
- What sort of things do you do in your sessions?
All GET sessions will vary in intensity and activities. It is of utmost importance to us that the GET participant be constantly experiencing new and exciting training methods and techniques. Emphasis is also on fun and it is hoped that new friendships, professional and social networks may be established through GET sessions.
Some of the activities in your GET session may include:
- Aerobic or ‘Cardio’ Training’- running (combined with intervals and at differing intensities), walking, stair climbing, skipping and hill sprints may all feature at different stages throughout a GET session, boxing (with focus pads) will be an integral part of our training and bag work will have the GET even participant gasping for air…
The purpose of the Cardio work is to increase metabolism, burn energy, increase stamina, improve fitness and aid in fat loss.- Peripheral Heart Action (PHA) or ‘Shunting’ has the effect of transporting blood from upper to lower extremities and vice versa through alternate exercises. As an essential part of our training, PHA will be evident at some stages throughout our sessions.
- Resistance Training- By subjecting muscles to resistance training, you help to increase their strength, size and tone. These factors are paramount in raising your metabolism in resting conditions throughout the day. Resistance bands, medicine balls, other GET participants and even our immediate surroundings will provide the necessary tools.
- Pilates and yoga-like stretching- GET will provide mats for these activities. Stretching seeks to lengthen the muscles and helps to increase blood-flow to these areas, thus aiding in recovery from your session. Core strength is an integral part in maintaing correct posture and may help to alleviate back pain.
- How fit do I need to be to participate?
At GET we cater for all levels of fitness. Our trainers are experienced at dealing with classes of varying fitness levels and we can assure you that you will receive a great workout, whatever your standard.
The only limitations to your participation are covered in our medical questionnaire which must be completed by all GET customers prior to their first session.
If you are concerned about your fitness level we recommend that you start on one of our easier sessions such as GET moving or GET up.
- How long do the sessions take?
Sessions take approximately 60 minutes.
- How many people can participate?
The maximum class size is 20 people. (Our Main Event bootcamp sessions have a maximum of 30 people)
- Do you provide any changing areas and shower facilities?
Yes and No. Depending on location of the session, we have access to shower and change facilities at MSAC but for outside sessions we expect that you will be changed and ready to go for the start of our sessions and that you have access to shower and changing facilities after the session at your office or home.
- What happens if it rains?
In most cases a bit of bad weather will not deter us from getting outside and getting amongst it!
However, if your business is located within close proximity to MSAC, sessions can be re-located to accommodate the extremes of Melbourne’s weather conditions, whether heat wave or rain.
All customers booked on a session which is relocated under these circumstances will be notified of the change of venue in advance of the session. We will either email you or call you. If you don’t hear from us, the session is on as planned.
- Where is your indoor facility?
Our indoor facility is at MSAC, 1 Aughtie Drive, Albert Park – enter from Albert Road.
- What happens if I can’t make a session?
You can change your session times and dates up until 7pm on the day before the session.
If at the last minute you can’t make it for whatever reason – you get stuck in meetings, you suddenly have to go to Sydney on business etc you are unfortunately not automatically entitled to a refund or session credit.
However, if you contact us and let us know as soon as possible we will do all that we can to reschedule your session so that you do not lose your money.
